Synopsis:
A TV show tackling the new wave of “Women Preachers” flourishing in some Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, UAE and Syria.
The show, 3x45’ episodes, discusses the roots as well as the influence of those preachers and how they interact with current issues and communicate with Arab societies and establishments, and to what extent their preaches may lead to a conflict with the constituting parties of each society.
A special focus is given to the so-called “Islamic Telephone”, as a tool increasingly used in the transmission of preachers’ ideas. In addition, the show hosts and interrogates a variety of famous women preachers: Badriya Al-Azaz and her daughter Fatima from Kuwait, Abla Kahlawi and Souad Saleh from Egypt, Iman Hashemi from UAE among others from KSA and Syria.
