- The
European Union's train
The production of this film presents the picture of Turks on their
way to the European Union through a very long journey (5 days) by
train from the poor east of Turkey (in Asia) to the industrialized
and rich west in the European part of Turkey.
One or two weeks later, the season of harvesting hazelnut starts
in the European part of Turkey. Poor farmers in the east together
with everybody of their families get ready for travelling by train
to farms of hazelnut in the European districts of Turkey.
The idea is that Turkish people travel from east to west for working
and improving their economic situations.
Since 41 years, the Turkish republic with its all elements in the
society aims to enter Europe for the same goal.
Farmers, some of which are Islamic, secularists or communists are
travelling on the same train in a shared direction and toward one
aim, but each of them has his idea and his own philosophy in this
journey; also, has his traditions and opinions about the farm he
is going to work in. |
